Nancy Gray White Jarrell

Nancy Gray White Jarrell, age 86, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Nancy was born December 8, 1937 in Columbus County, NC the daughter of the late Era LaFaye Simmons White and A. E. White. She was a 1955 graduate of Fairmont High School and a graduate of Rowan Memorial Hospital Nursing School and worked as a registered nurse for Rowan Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Nancy was very active at Oak Park teaching bible studies, worked in the library, coordinating movie night and was in the knitting and crocheting club at Oak Park and Rufty Homes. Preceding her in death was her husband James Ray Jarrell on January 21, 2021; son James Ray Jarrell, II in 2014. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Judy Jarrell Turbeville (Chuck) of Florence, SC, Karen Jarrell Waters (Jeff) of Mt. Pleasant, Jane Jarrell Hunsucker (Britt) of Salisbury and Jonathan Earl Jarrell (Lauren) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Heather Reynolds (Frank) of Florence, SC, Megan Burrow (Christopher) of Roswell, GA, James Ray Jarrell III of Faith, Alison Waters of Winston Salem, Nicholas Hunsucker of Salisbury, Reagan Waters of Mt. Pleasant, Lizzie Jarrell of Atlanta, GA and Henry Jarrell of Atlanta, GA; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Kenneth Lance with entombment to follow at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will speak to friends following entombment service. The family would like to thank the staff at Atrium Health Baptist Hospital for their loving care of Mrs. Jarrell and would also like to thank the Oak Park staff for their loving care of Nancy in her time there.
