Maryanne Dobbin Lenox

Maryanne Dobbin Lenox, of Salisbury, NC died peacefully at her home on September 7th, 2026. She was the daughter of the late James J. and Mary T. Dobbin. Born in New York (Manhattan), NY, she was educated in the Mount Vernon, NY, public schools. She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in White Plains, NY, and the Katharine Gibbs School, New York, NY. Mrs. Lenox graduated summa cum laude from the College of New Jersey, Ewing, and was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society during her senior year. She received a Masters of Education in Speech and Language Pathology from the College of New Jersey in 1983. Mrs. Lenox was certified by the American Speech and Language Association and was a past member of several Speech and Language Associations, the Alexander Graham Bell Association, and was a lifetime member of NEA. Mrs. Lenox’s career included serving students with special needs in private, parochial, and public schools in NJ and NC. After her retirement in 1998, she volunteered at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Rowan Regional Medical Center for a number of years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barry, and the brothers, James, William and Robert. She is survived by three sons: Brian M. Lenox, Rear Admiral Kevin P. Lenox and wife Sandra, and James P. Lenox and wife Jill. Other survivors include her Sister-in-law Maureen Dobbin, five grandchildren: Mitchell, Caragh, Maeve, Margaret, and Evelyn; three great grandchildren: Lillie, Violet, and Maisie; along with many nieces and nephews. Maryanne was a devoted wife and loving mother to her family. Her generous heart and quick wit will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on September 28th at 11:30am. Burial will take place at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Statesville Boulevard at 12:30pm.
