Katherine Hill Miller

Katherine Hill Miller welcomed her first heavenly breath on Friday, February 20, 2026. We are celebrating the beginning of her eternal life with Jesus, her Savior, and loved ones who are waiting for her there: William Edward Miller, husband; Leo Cleveland Hill and Mildred Gaddy Hill, parents. There are many of us here who will miss her being in our lives: Laura Miller Johnson, daughter; James David Johnson, son-in-law; Amanda Kate Johnson, granddaughter; Carter Elliott Johnson, grandson; Grace Anne Bridges, sister; Leo “Dan” Cleveland Hill II and many wonderful nieces and nephews. She was devoted and loving to us all; however, she expressed her greatest joy was time spent with her two grandkids. She loved to travel with them and they shared many numerous adventures. Professionally, Katherine was a Registered Nurse. Her compassion and care for people were consistent throughout her varied and unique career. At Charlotte Memorial Hospital, her journey began as a surgical nurse where she assisted in open heart surgery. She continued at surgical nursing at Rowan Memorial Hospital and then transferred into continuing education for nurses as an instructor. After relocation to Charleston, SC she served patients in Home Health through nursing and application of medical devices. Her knowledge of a particular medical device was recognized by the manufacturer based in Colorado and they hired and supported her innovative research. This inspiration led her to develop and present her information to the FDA and to receive a patent on a procedure for wound healing/management. The quest for improved patient care and improved medicines led her into pharmaceutical research where she traveled extensively to monitor developmental protocol for various pharmaceutical companies. Throughout her lifetime she lovingly shared her faith in Jesus to family and friends. To those who knew her, we hope you remember her sense of humor, compassion for others, her generosity and inspiration. Our family will celebrate privately and appreciate your consideration during this time of adjustment.
