Jacob Hawkins Thomas Usher, 7, of Salisbury, NC passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. God blessed our family with the sweetest gift from heaven on July 2, 2007. He is the son of Thomas and Linda Hawkins. Jacob’s life was shared with many loved ones: Jayle Grace, Cayden, Jamie, Jeffery, Devin, and Katelyn Usher; sisters: Holly (John) Williams and her children, Laykha and Kagan.; Heather (Joshua) Simmons and her daughter, Alexis; grandparents, Woodrow Usher, Monte Solomon and Lori Beale; great-grandparents, Hilton and Tempe Miller; and special mamaw, Wanda Hosch. He was the godson of Jacob and Shelby Pace. Jacob was blessed with so many wonderful people in his life that were considered family to him. He will be greatly missed by his special dog, Zoey. Jacob attended Partners In Learning from infancy until he began school at Shive Elementary School where he was currently in 2nd grade. He was known at his school as “Little Man.” Jacob attended New Hope Baptist Church and was in Cub Scout Pack #333. He loved playing baseball and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He participated in walks and fundraiser for Make a Wish Foundation and the Down’s Syndrome Association. Jacob’s favorite toys were Buzz and Woody from Toy Story. Jacob had an infectious smile. He is, was, and always will be such a Blessing to all who knew him. In his lifetime he accomplished more than most of us ever will. The World is a better place, for a Precious “Little Man” made it so! He brought the TRUE meaning of LOVE to anyone blessed enough to have known him, saw his smile or felt his hugs that no other could ever match. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday (Mar. 28) at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday (Mar. 29) at New Hope Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Darryl Worley, Minister of New Hope Baptist Church. The family would like to thank every person that brought joy and happiness to his days and touched his life.
