David Bryon Dixon

David Bryon Dixon, 63, of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Sunday October 6th, 2024. His passing came from a cancer diagnosis of just last month. It was an aggressive stomach cancer that has metastasized in his body. He was born July 28th 1961 in Sierra Madre, CA to Donna Reyes and the late Larry Dixon. He attended West Rowan High School, RCCC, Santa Ana College in CA, and Fullerton College in CA. David worked faithfully for Freightliner for over 30 years. He was an outdoorsman who loved saltwater fishing and spent as much time as possible doing just that. David also was a big sports fan who loved the LA Angels but to him they will forever be the Anaheim Angels. He was also a huge fan of NC State. He also enjoyed watching the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Braves with his dad. With his love of sports, he coached many years for Rowan Little League, and his son Levi’s travel ball team the Rowan Rangers. David is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Anna & Harry Rose, paternal grandparents Clarence & Thelma Dixon, and his father Larry Dixon. In addition to his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa, he is survived by his children Brandon Hiatt (Brittany), Alex Hiatt (Katie), MacKenzie Davis (Seth), and Levi Dixon and special friend, Sophia; and his beloved grandchildren who he cherished deeply Brody Hiatt, Baker Hiatt, Brynlee Hiatt, Braxleigh Davis, Kepley Hiatt, and Riggs Davis. He is also survived by his mother Donna Reyes (Cervando); step-mother Brenda Dixon; sisters, Becky Mehl (Randy) and Cheri Baier,;his brother Chris Dixon along with all of his loving nieces; sister-in-law Linda Miller (Gordon) and brother-in-law David McKInney A celebration of life will be Saturday, November 2, 2024 at noon at The City Park with family and friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Brinkley, Dr. Collins, Susan Thornton, Claudia Hernandez and the nurses of the 3rd floor at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center for their loving care of David the past month.
