Carole Burris Blair

Carole Burris Blair (79) of Mooresville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026. There is no doubt she was greeted with open arms by her Heavenly Father and loving husband, Bill. They are surely shag dancing the days away. Carole was born in Lincolnton, NC on June 6, 1946 to her parents, Joseph Alonzo Burris and Perlee Goodin Burris, both of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Lincolnton High School in 1964. Carole attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and while she was there met the love of her life, Bill Blair, whom she eventually married. Carole was a beloved wife, mother, Grammy, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her extraordinary gift of hospitality and her talent of bringing beauty into her own home and into the homes that she decorated through the years. Her Christian faith was the most important part of her life and she passed that faith on to her children and those around her, just as her parents had shared it with her. Carole had a servant’s heart. She loved nothing more than helping others in countless ways; whether it be decorating their homes, making flower arrangements or creating the singing Christmas Tree at church, sharing her crafts or food, or praying for them. She found her greatest joy in life in spending time with her three children and 11 grandchildren whom she spent most of her time with during her later years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Blair, her mother, father, her dear sister, Gayle Burris Kale, and brothers-in-law, Al Kale and Dan Taylor. She is lovingly remembered by her children Kristin Blair Poirier (Tim), Jeffrey Monroe Blair (Allison) and Mandi Blair Bell (Keith), along with her 11 grandchildren, Brooks, Blair, Brett, and Ben Poirier, Will, Wesley, Walker, and Saylor Blair, Jake, Elizabeth, and Merritt Bell. She is also warmly remembered by her brother, Joseph Wayne Burris, sister-in-law, Cynthia Burris, and her sister, Becky Burris Taylor and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Sunday (Mar 1) at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM in Summersett Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Brian Farmer.
