Mrs. Phyllis Murdock Myers

November 8, 1934 - January 21, 2022

Phyllis Murdock Myers, age 87, of Salisbury passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at her residence. Phyllis was born November 8, 1934 in Rowan County the daughter of the late Mildred Rice Murdock and Pete Murdock. She was a 1953 graduate of Boyden High School and a 1957 graduate of Salisbury Business College. She worked at Hurley Elementary School as a librarian, teacher assistant, Bus Driver and in the office. Phyllis was an avid golfer and member of McCanless Golf Course. She loved crafts, traveling with her husband and mowing her yard. Preceding her in death was her husband of 67 years Carlton Leon Myers on June 23, 2021. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Kenneth Myers and significant other Angie Steele of Salisbury and Karen Coggins and husband Don of Salisbury; granddaughter Kaitlyn Coggins of Salisbury; sister Carol Hair of Salisbury. There will be a graveside service 12:30 PM Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Rowan Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Carroll Robinson. Due to inclement weather the service will be held in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Rowan Memorial Park. The family would like to thank her caregivers Karen Huff, Lisa Robertson, Angie Link, Betsy Safrit and Juanita House for their loving care of Mrs. Myers.
