Payton Eileen Massey Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Payton Eileen Massey, 21, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at Atrium Heath/Wake Forest Baptist. She was born April 18, 2001, the daughter of the late Amy Michelle Wilson Shelton and step-father, William Smith. Payton was educated in the Rowan County Schools graduating from West Rowan High School in 2019, she worked in sales at Badcock Furniture. She enjoyed artwork and was a strong, adventurous, intelligent person with her own style. Payton was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. Always had a smile on her face and a joke on her lips. All that knew her loved her. She made such an impact so many peoples lives and will forever be missed. She enjoyed life, family members and many friends. Payton had a strong family commitment and always there to brighten your life. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amy Michelle Wilson Shelton. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandmother, Tammy Wilson and grandfather, James C. Wilson both of Salisbury, NC; brothers, Gabriel Shelton of Valdese, NC; William Smith, Jr of Salisbury, NC and Rylan Smith of Salisbury, NC; uncle James R. Wilson of Salisbury, NC; best friend, Ivy Burleson and significant other, Brandon Richard. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 3-5 PM at Summersett Funeral Home from. A Memorial Service will follow at 5 PM in the Summersett Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bryan Hullette officiating. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Massey family.
