Michael Dennis Thomas, 83, of Salisbury, NC passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 in Henderson, NC. Born October 29, 1938 in Chucky, TN, to the late DD Thomas and Edith Arnott Thomas, he was a graduate of Spotsylvania High School in Virginia. Michael earned his Accounting Degree from the University of Virginia and worked as a Cost Accountant for Fieldcrest Cannon. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury where he was a leader of the Senior Sunday School class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michella Hartley; granddaughter, Jessica Hartley; brothers, Newell Thomas and Larry Thomas and sister Catherine Berri Surviving is his wife Ruth Bell Thomas; daughter, Tammie Thomas Stanton and husband Billy; son, Dennis Thomas; brother, Lowell Thomas and wife Barbara and Sister-in-Law, Judy Thomas. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Hillarie Fries, Michael Chase Thomas, Destinie Stanton Bumgarner, John Robert Hartley and Cheyenne Barnes and 9 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Rowan Memorial Park on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11AM with Pastor Brian Farmer officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service.
