Margaret Beatrice Hill Mason

Margaret Beatrice Hill Mason was born in Wilmington, NC to the late Rueben A. Hill, Sr and Florine Bryant Hill. She passed on into eternity on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte NC. Margaret was educated in the public schools of New Hanover County, attending Williston High School. She met and married Franklin D. Mason at an early age and remained married for 53 years until his death in 2010. During this union, her family then moved to Greensboro, NC in 1971 and then to Richmond, VA where she resided for 25 years. Margaret became a member of Crusade for Christ Christian Church Ministries under the leadership of Bishop John L Harris where she fully enjoyed the services. After her retirement as a daycare teacher at Kindercare Learning Center her family moved to Charlotte, NC in 2000 where she lived until her death. Margaret lived a very fulfilling life. To know her was to love her. She was full of laughter and joy wherever she was. Margaret was her happiest being surrounded with family and friends. Just to mention her name brought joy to your heart. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret (Robyn) Ann Hill; siblings, Rueben A. Hill, Jr, Doris Hill, Bennie Hill, Mildred Simmons, James Hill (unknown); and brother-in-law, Alexander Mason. Margaret leaves to cherish her memories; son, Michael W Mason (Jeanette) of New Mexico; daughter, LaWanda J. Mason of Charlotte, NC; step-son, Michael Wall of Rockingham, NC ; grandson, Jarrett M Mason (Shareese) of Las Vegas; great- grandchildren, Chosen J Mason, Power J Mason, Myles Mason, Brandon Mason; sisters, Rosa Marshall of Wilmington, NC, and Ruby Davis of Wilmington, NC. She also leaves a very special nephew, LaQuan Davis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends 12 – 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Summersett Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1 p.m. in Summersett Memorial Chapel; officiated by Reverend Alphonza Everett – Euology and Vanessa P. Ellison will be reading the obituary and acknowledgments.
