Jesse Lewis Morgan, 88, went home to be with his Lord & Savior on December 13, 2020. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters as they recited Psalm 23- his favorite Bible passage. He was born on August 29,1932, in Campobello, SC, to the late Thomas Lee & Bessie Page Morgan. He graduated from New Prospect High School in SC- never missing a day of school the entire 12 years! He was the youngest of 6 children. He is survived by his sister, Gertrude Bradley of Inman, SC. Jesse was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Annette Miller Morgan. She was truly the love of his life! He was an honest and hardworking man, who was dedicated to his Lord, wife, children, extended family, church and community. He worked for A & P for 35 years- serving as the Produce Manager at the store in Spencer. After retiring from there, he then worked at Krispy Kreme for over 15 years! Jesse was well-loved by all those who met him. He was unusually kind and caring- always looking for ways to make people smile. He loved to give out candy and even dance a little jig to make others smile! He was a charter and faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church- formerly serving as an elder and an usher. He was a long-time member of the Franklin- Ellis Lions Club- spending countless hours raising money for the blind and was awarded the NC Lions Club Award for Dedicated Humanitarian Services in 2001. He is survived by his 2 daughters - Tamara Morgan and Kim ( Dickie) Myers, both of Salisbury- and 4 grandchildren: Karis ( Kyle) Van Althuis of Leland,NC; Andrew ( Leslie) Myers of Cedar Point, NC; Jesse ( Kyle) Myers of Wilmington, NC; and Daniel Myers of Salisbury- and 6 great- grandchildren: Kase, Paige, and Jack Van Althuis and Lynnlee, Paul, and Liesel Myers and many nieces and nephews. Service: A Celebration of Life Service at Maranatha Bible Church on Saturday, December 19, 2020, conducted by Pastor Lincoln Roth at 2 pm. Social distancing will be observed and masks required. The service may also be viewed at Lincoln Roth’s Facebook page and will also be available at www.mbiblechurch.org.
