Jan Kerwood Ferguson

Jan Kerwood Ferguson, 77 years of age, of Salisbury, North Carolina, formerly of West Hamlin, West Virginia, passed peacefully on September18, 2022, at the Glenn Kiser Hospice House, in Salisbury, North Carolina. Born November 26, 1944, in Huntington, WV, Jan was the daughter of the late Tom and Myrtle Kerwood of West Hamlin, West Virginia. Jan was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School in Lincoln County, West Virginia, where she was a majorette, as well as having earned a business degree from Huntington College of Business. Jan was employed by Lincoln Clay Products as book keeper and secretary in West Hamlin, West Virginia, in addition to having been employed by Southern Community Action Association in Lincoln County. Jan loved music, fashion, home decorating, baking, and above all, treasured her immediate and extended family, as well as her close friends. Jan is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Jerry Clark Ferguson of Salisbury, North Carolina, formerly of West Hamlin, West Virginia, in addition to two daughters, Deidra Ferguson Woods of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Jade Ferguson Salmons of Statesville, North Carolina. She is also survived by granddaughters Lisa Midkiff Eimer of Barboursville, West Virginia, Candace (Jason) Adkins Hudson of Hamlin, West Virginia, Jessica (Shawn) Snook of Statesville, North Carolina, and Jenna Shea Adkins of Clarksburg, West Virginia. Jan is also survived by great granddaughter, Emily Walls of Mooresville, NC a graduate of UNC Charlotte, great grandsons Caden Eimer and Tristen Eimer of Barboursville, West Virginia, Tyler and Jackson Camden, and Bentley Snook of Statesville, North Carolina .She is also survived by sister, Melanie Kerwood Mabe of Point Pleasant, WV, as well as several nieces and nephews in West Virginia. Jan was sister to the late Deanna Kerwood Hoke and to her late brother, Tommy Kerwood, originally from West Hamlin, WV. Burial will be held at an undisclosed time in a private family graveside service at the Baylous Cemetery in Cabell County, West Virginia. Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Ferguson family.
