Evelyn Campbell Morgan

October 29, 1930 - January 4, 2022

Evelyn Campbell Morgan passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022 at home, in loving care of her family. Born October 29, 1930, in Rowan County, she was daughter of Clyde and Helen Lyerly Campbell. Mrs. Morgan graduated from Cleveland High School and Catawba College. She retired from teaching after 29 years at East Rowan High School. Then, she substituted for eleven years at West Rowan High School. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Bonnie Collins, and a dear granddaughter, Mary Ellen Morgan. She is survived by her loving husband of 70+ years, Warren G. Morgan, two sons, Gary Morgan and wife Betty of Troutman and Tim Morgan and wife Karen of Charlotte; one sister, Dot Hoage of Newton; and one brother, Jim Campbell of Cleveland. She is also survived by three granddaughters, April Rollins, Julie Bell (Lennie), and Mary Katherine Quattlebaum (Trey); two grandsons, Tyler Morgan (Stephanie) and John Morgan; five great-grandsons, Hunter Rollins, Sawyer Rollins, Luke Morgan, Will Quattlebaum and Matthew Quattlebaum; and four great-granddaughters, Charlotte Bell, Katelyn Morgan, Morgan Quattlebaum and Savannah Rollins. Special thanks to a faithful friend, Pat Morrison and faithful telephone friends, Mary Smith, Mildred Powel, Betty Titus and many others. Also special thanks to Leslie Soules for the beautiful roses he frequently gave and thank you to Dr. Wimmer and staff at Carolina Oncology, and Patricia and Linda at the infusion center for their professional and compassionate care. A Graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday (Jan 12) at Old Providence Presbyterian Church, South River Church Rd, Cleveland, NC. Rev. Randy Addison of Trinity Wesleyan Church will officiate. In the event of inclement weather, funeral service will be moved inside the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 2200 Mooresville Rd, Salisbury, NC 28147 or Old Providence Presbyterian Church: c/o R.D. Wooten, 345 Warp Drive, Cleveland, NC 27013.
