Dana Earl Lippard

Mr. Dana Earl Lippard, 68, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Atrium Health Northeast and is now in heaven rejoicing with his Savior. Born July 29, 1954 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Edgar Earl Lippard and Ruth Bost Lippard. He was a 1972 graduate of West Rowan High School and graduated from Western Carolina University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts Education. He taught at Erwin Junior High School for five years and was a letter carrier for the City of Spencer for 31 years. When Dana married Susan Barber on September 8th, 1974, he couldn’t have possibly imagined all the adventures and experiences that were to follow the next 48 years. He was an active member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church where he was currently serving as chairman of the Deacons. He was the spiritual leader of his family and was a mentor to many. He enjoyed bee keeping and camping. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and making them laugh. He was lovingly known to many as “Pappy.” In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Lippard and a granddaughter, Natalie Lippard. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan Barber Lippard; children Robin George (Jeff) of Lexington, SC, Emily Morgan (Denny) of Salisbury, Stephen Lippard (Soheila) of Stem, NC, Katy Kelly (Justin) of W Columbia, SC, Melani Williard (Kendon) of Salisbury, Barbara Lippard of Youngsville; brother, Gary Lippard (Pam) of Salisbury; sister, Vickie Underwood (Dale) of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Cheryl Lippard of Salisbury; grandchildren, Reagan, Kenan and Levi George, Caleigh, Lily and Joel Morgan, Lexi, Camden and Mason Lippard, and Brock Hunt. The family will receive friends 5 -7 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 17th) at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 18th) at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Larry Gilbreath with burial to follow at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery with assistance from Rev. Dawn Rister. Mr. Lippard will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service.
