Mrs Charlie Gibson Eury

Charlie Anna Gibson Eury, of Salisbury, NC, passed peacefully into eternal life at her home on Monday afternoon, the 8th of April 2013, following a ten-year battle with bone cancer. She was surrounded by her loving and supportive family, caregivers and friends. Charlie was 69. Born the 28th of May 1943 in Laurinburg, NC, Charlie was a daughter of the late Charlie Clay Gibson and Anna Patrick Gibson Roberts. She graduated from Laurinburg High School. Charlie retired in 2005 from Salisbury VA Medical Center as a Radiology Technician, after working in the Radiology field for over 42 years. A lover of the outdoors, Charlie enjoyed traveling and visiting the Outer Banks and coastal lighthouses. As a hobby, she loved to collect miniature lighthouses, and anything beach related. Charlie also enjoyed going RV-ing. Family and friends were very important to Charlie. She had a unique way of making you feel special and loved. In addition to her parents, Charlie was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 26 years, Bill Eury, and a sister, Mary Hodge. She is survived by her caring and supportive son, Charles Kelly; step-son, David Eury of Rockwell, NC; step-daughters, Diane Hoffman of Rockwell, NC, and Virginia Beaver of NC; grandchildren, Amanda Dew and her husband, Brandon, of Gold Hill, NC, and Katie and Kyle Brown of Spencer, NC; and her very special great-granddaughter, Monica Dew. Charlie is also survived by a brother, Frank Roberts and his wife, Stephanie, of Hope Mills, NC; and sister, Betty Martin of Vero Beach, FL. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends that loved and adored her dearly. The funeral service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 13th of April 2013 at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, 11020 NC Highway 801, Mount Ulla, NC 28125. Her pastors, Dr. Tim Potter and Rev. Mary Louise Sitton will officiate. Interment will follow in Rowan Memorial Park. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 10-11 AM Saturday at the church.
