Charles Lee Blume

February 5, 1942 - March 8, 2022

Charles Lee Blume, 80, of Woodleaf, NC passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, with his loving wife, Debbie, by his side. Charles was born to the late William Lee Blume and Elsie Williams Blume on February 5, 1942 in Salisbury, NC. He attended Woodleaf School and was in the first graduating class at West Rowan High School. He worked for Martin Marietta and retired from the Department of Labor with 27 years as a Federal Coal Mine Inspector in Kentucky. He is preceded in death by both parents, brother-in-law, Raymond Tilley and brother, Dale. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 22 years, Debbie Brock Blume; daughter, Jennifer Cekada (Emil); and son, Brent Blume; grandchildren: Justin McDaniel (Tara), Erica Cekada, Lauren Cekada, Thomas Blume, and he was excited about his future great-granddaughter; his sister, Dianne Blume Tilley; brother, Jimmy Curtis Blume (Nan); fur babies, Jake, Maxx, and Henry and by love grandson, Cody Livengood and family. Charles was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Woodleaf, NC. He was a member of the Civitan Club in Woodleaf since 2009. Charles loved working in his vegetable garden, tending to his large variety of rose bushes and enjoying the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting on his property. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Saturday (Mar 12) at Unity Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sue Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church, PO Box 28, Woodleaf, NC 27054 or Rowan Helping Ministries, 785 Grampian Rd., Mt. Ulla, NC 28125.
