Russell James Lowe Jr.

Russell James Lowe Jr. (RJ), 53, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House from cancer surrounded by members of his family. Mr. Lowe was born on March 28, 1964 in Surry Co., and he was the son of Grace Reynolds Lowe of Salisbury and the late Russell James Lowe Sr. “RJ” was a graduate of West Rowan High School (Class of 1982) and went on to further his education at DeVry University studying electronics before beginning several careers in the field. RJ was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church in Salisbury an employee of Advance Auto in the Salisbury area. RJ enjoyed working with pretty much anything that had a motor on it and teaching others how to work on their own cars, he just loved being around other people. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family members and loved to be with his children and grandchildren. RJ also enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friends and often found himself in the Blue Ridge Mountains where he stayed from time to time. RJ truly loved life and being a free spirit doing things on the spur of a moment like that last minute trip to the beach or back to the mountains. Survivors include his mother Grace Reynolds Lowe, his sons Joseph “Clark” Morgan (Sandy), Russell James Lowe, III (Phylicia) all of Salisbury, Richard H Lowe (Jacquline) of China Grove; brothers John T. Lowe (Donna) and Andrew S. Lowe both of Salisbury; Grandchildren, Austin Morgan, Joseph “Blake” Morgan, Carter Morgan, Summer Lowe, Rilee Lowe, Kayleigh Lowe The Family will receive friends from 5-7 Sunday at Summersett Funeral Home and at the home of his mother at other times. Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Franklin Presbyterian Church 280 Franklin Church Drive in Salisbury with the Rev. John Elam officiating. Mr. Lowe will lie in state one hour before the before the funeral. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with a short graveside service Memorials may be made to the Glenn A.
