Mrs. Peggy Davis Buff

Peggy Marie Davis Buff, 87, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the home of her son. Born October 12, 1927 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Victor and Sarah Elizabeth Link Davis. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. After she retired she focused on especially being her great-grandsons “Nana”. She was educated in the Salisbury schools and graduated from Boyden High School. Mrs. Buff was employed at White Packing Company, Manager of The Gold Shop and retired from Innes Street Drug. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Porter Road, Salisbury, served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a past member and President of the Faith American Legion Post 327 Ladies Auxiliary. Preceded her in death are her husband, Lloyd Lonon Buff, Sr. whom she married May 22, 1948, daughter, Laura Buff Brown, brother, Jack Davis and grandson, Robert Allen Buff. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Lloyd L. Buff, Jr. and wife Kathy; son-in-law, Toby Brown; grandson, Lloyd Buff, III, Kevin Buff, Chris Brown and wife Kim, Brian Brown and Wife Angelita, Shawn Brown; granddaughter, Amanda Buff Propst and husband Jesse; great-grandson, Jackson and Andrew Propst, Peyton Brown all of Salisbury; step-grandchildren, Tammy Abernethy of Oklahoma, Stephanie Abernethy of Missouri, Alisha Parego of Illionis, and Jennifer Morgan of Oklahoma; Zackary Neuhaus, J.J. Diliello of Salisbury; sisters, JoAnn Reid and Carolyn Joyner both of Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM Saturday (June 27) at Summersett Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the residence of her granddaughter, Amanda Propst. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday (June 28) at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Pierce, officiating. Mrs. Buff will lie in state 30 minutes before the service. Interment will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 100 Porter Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146 or Liberty Hospice, 1007 Lexington Ave., Thomasville, NC 27360. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab for all the love and care you gave Mrs. Buff. Also, to her hospice care that came to us to help us through her final days. Your support and love were greatly appreciated.
