Nancy Deal Hipp

Nancy Deal Hipp, 85, of Salisbury, NC passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Born July 15, 1937 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Thad Corpening Deal and Mabel Cranford Deal. Preceding her in death was her husband of 65 years, Harry Lewis Hipp, Jr. on March 12, 2021 and sister-in-law, Loretta Hipp on May 3, 2021. Nancy attended Hurley School before graduating from Boyden High School in 1955. For many years she enjoyed the monthly lunch group with both her Hurley and Boyden classmates. She enjoyed working on class reunions and keeping in touch with classmates. Nancy was employed by Brad Ragan, Inc. and retired as Credit Manager in 1996. Nancy was a member of the First United Church of Christ where she served on the Church Council, sang in the choir, was involved with Circle 6, Sunday School, and the Prayer Chain. She enjoyed entertaining others with her Minnie Pearl and Maxine humor at the annual Daughters’ Banquet. She also helped with Meals on Wheels. Nancy loved the Lord and enjoyed many Bible Study groups through the years. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dawn Hipp Holshouser and husband Jim Stricker, David Hipp and wife Pam, Lee Anne Hipp Corriher and husband Chad; brother-in-laws, John Hipp, George Hipp and wife, Mary, grandchildren, Brian Stricker and wife Carrie, Amy Wallace, Dylan Holshouser, Tyler Holshouser, Alex Hipp Clark and husband John, Savanah Hipp Snyder and husband, Josh, Ava Corriher, Audrey Corriher; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at First United Church of Christ, 207 West Horah Street, Salisbury. Rev. Carol Hallman will officiate the service. The family will receive friends before the service at 10:00 – 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury. The family would like to thank all of the special staff and residents of Autumn Care of Salisbury who loved and cared for Nancy the past 2 years.
