Molly Allison Secreast Isenhour

Molly Allison Secreast Isenhour, 47, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, April 30th, one day after her last birthday. Molly, born to Roger and Patti Secreast of Spencer on April 29th, 1977, completed our family along with her big sis, Melissa. Cherished from the moment she was born, Molly was also a beloved child of the Spencer community. She attended North Rowan Schools K-12 and graduated in 1995 with a spectacular class. She sparkled, entertained and loved all she knew and met throughout her school years. She was blessed with loving, caring, and competent educators who helped her reach her goals. Many thanks to all of her teachers and classmates. After graduation she enrolled at RCCC and received an Associate Degree in Early Childcare. She even met someone who became a very close friend in the enrollment line, Lisa Thomason. She collected friends wherever she was. She later attended WCU and Pfeiffer University where she received a teaching degree and certification for early childhood. She always loved little children and had a unique, fun way to teach them. She saw and recognized gifts in each one. Molly embarked on a teaching career after working many years at Raper’s in Spencer where her creative spirit thrived. She has taught at Kiddie Land, Essie Mae Kiser Foxx School, and was currently employed as a pre-k Headstart teacher in East Spencer. She loved all of her co-workers and they embraced her big spirit and nurtured it. Along with a career, Molly had a family and is survived by her son, Wesley Isenhour, now 25 years old. Molly always liked attention and she got it when Wes was born on the 1st day of football practice in 1998. He was the light of her life and he brought endless joy and pride to her. She and Wesley regularly attended and worshiped at Spencer Presbyterian which was extended family to both. Molly lived the Christian faith through her love. As one church member stated, “She brought more folks to church than all of us combined.” She knew all were welcomed and loved in her church family. In addition to people, Molly loved animals and flowers. Blessed with a green thumb, she could grow and identify any plants and brought home numerous cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, rabbits - you name it, we’ve had it. She nurtured sick ones and tried to help suffering ones. She is survived by her dog, Meg. Preceding Molly in death are all 4 of her grandparents, Bus and Frances Lineberger of Spencer and Bob and Helen Secreast of Lenoir and paternal Uncle Mark and Aunt Jeanie Secreast of Lenoir. Preceding her also in death was former Brother in Law, John Isenhour. She has lost many friends of all ages, races, and religions who I’m sure met her at heaven’s gates. She is survived by her immediate family, son Wesley Isenhour and fiance Sierra Thomas of Salisbury; parents Roger Secreast of N. Myrtle Beach, SC and Patti Secreast of Spencer, sister Melissa Secreast and nephew Rylan Furr of Spencer; former husband Robert Isenhour of Florida, and his father Tom Isenhour, Kathy, and Laura of Salisbury. She leaves behind a group of aunts, uncles, and cousins who were part of her team till the end. There will be a memorial service for Molly on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the North Rowan High auditorium.
