Lois Marjorie Fischer Paradowski

Lois Marjorie Fischer Paradowski, 83, of Salisbury, NC. passed away October 2, 2017 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after three years of battling lung cancer. She was born on August 1, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Otto F. Fischer and Florence E. Jarmish Fischer. She was the wife of Raymond(Ray) Edward Paradowski, married August 1, 1955 in Angola, Indiana. After graduating from Westlake High School of Ohio she was employed at General Motors Acceptance Corporation(GMAC) in Lorain, Ohio. She was then supervisor of the Accounts Payable department at Allied and Ivey’s department stores. Lois was an avid seamstress making clothes for herself, her daughters, and her grandchildren. She was well-known for her cooking as well as her wedding and specialty cake making expertise. Lois enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, several European countries, and her condominium at Cherry Grove Beach, and she especially enjoyed family life with her children, grandchildren, and over sixty-two years of marriage. Active in community activities, Lois was a substitute teaching mentor to high school students and involved in various clubs and organizations as member or officer including Elkton, MD Junior Women’s Club, Ladies Auxiliaries of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Newark, DE, Greenville, SC, and Salisbury, NC, officer of Greenville, SC Drove #60 Benevolent and Patriotic Order of Does, officer of Salisbury Women’s Club, Newcomer’s Club, Lady Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Great friendships were formed and developed over thirty years of frequent gatherings with her cherished members of her “Out to Lunch Bunch.” Lois is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Paradowski, daughters Sharon Frankenfield of Salisbury, Rhonda Hudgens (Charles) of Charlotte, and Pamela Clark of Columbia, SC, sister Lillian Fischer Ryant (Clay) of Elyria, OH, and grandchildren Casey Clark Sparrow (Len), Julie Frankenfield Papasadero (Chris), Jonathan Hudgens, Katie Hudgens, Christine Frankenfield, and Jeani Rae Clark. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Knox, brother Roger Fischer, and brother Lester Fischer. Arrangements: Visitation for family and friends will be held in the narthex of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 375 Lumen Christi Lane, Salisbury, NC on Saturday October 7 at 10 a.m. with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service at the church cemetery.
