Judson Hamon Enloe

Judson Hamon Enloe, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home. Born February 25, 1927 in Judson, NC, he was the son of the late Herbert Carlyle Enloe and Annie Cochran Enloe. He was educated in the Swain and Transylvania County schools and graduated from Brevard High School, Class of 1945. Mr. Enloe was a veteran of the US Army during World War II and served with the 47th Infantry and 9th Infantry. He helped transport war criminals to Nuremburg, Germany for trial. He was employed by NC Finishing Company, Fiber Industries and retired from Kern Roll Rubber Company (Permaflex). After retiring he worked part-time at Carolina Tire, and Rowan Cabarrus Community College delivering mail. A member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, Bost/Barringer Sunday School Class, he served as Deacon Emeritus, Trustee, Director of Training Union and the Bus Ministry. He was also a member of the VFW and the Patriotic Sons of America. Mr. Enloe was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Mary Margaret Juboor Enloe on July 30, 1981 and his second wife, Reba Bush Enloe on September 10, 2006, his brother, Carl Enloe and sister, Louise Hogsed. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, John J. Enloe and wife Caren of Fuquay Varina, Anne Marie Safrit and husband Alan of Raleigh and Mary K. Enloe of Salisbury; step-children, Shelby T. Bush, III of Louisville, KY, Larry W. Bush and wife Susan of Louisville, KY, William C. Bush and wife Rita of Westminster, MD, Howard E. Bush of San Diego, CA Frank K. Bush and wife Jackie of Wichita Falls, TX; brothers, Roland Enloe of Brevard, Doyle Enloe of Hendersonville; sisters, Jean Foster and husband Jim of Salisbury and Hazel Hunter of Charlotte; grandchildren, Caroline Enloe, Garrett Enloe, Maggie Smale and husband Josh, Tory Townsend and husband Josh, six step-grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM Tuesday (Jan. 6) at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Earl Pennell, interim minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the NC National Guard and the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard. The family would like to offer their appreciation for the kindness and care given by the doctors and staff at the NC State Veterans Nursing Home.
