Mr. Joseph Amin Saleeby

Joseph Amin Saleeby, 94, of Salisbury passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks. Born June 9, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Naseema Saleeby and Amin Joseph Saleeby. Mr. Saleeby was educated in the Brooklyn, NY schools and attended Catawba College, North Carolina State University and the RCA Bell Laboratories, in New York He was employed for the US Government repairing electronics on airplanes across the United States… He operated Radio Center, a radio and stereo record shop in Salisbury and later owned and operated the State Smoke Shop with his father before retiring. Mr. Saleeby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury for 72 years, Every Man’s Bible Class, Fulton Masonic Lodge, #99 AF & AM, the Rowan Shrine Club and the Oasis Temple. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Marshall Saleeby on July 13, 1984 and his brother, Rev. Alfred Saleeby on December 1, 2011 Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Blenda Harris and fiance’ Ed Chester of North Myrtle Beach, SC, JoJo Antosek and husband Joe of Salisbury and Vann Saleeby and wife Kathy of Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Jody Antosek and wife Amanda of Salisbury, Steve Antosek and wife Lindsey of Salisbury, Ryan Saleeby of Sugar Hill, GA, Bonnie Saleeby of Sugar Hill, GA, Scott Saleeby of Sugar Hill, GA, Michael Broome and wife Laura of Salisbury, Karen Harris Chance and husband David of Southport, Kelly Harris Evans and husband Tim of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Alex, Nicholas, Katie, Maggie, Mary Grace, Meredith, Harrison, Anna Kate, Kayla, Madison, Jonathan and Ben. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday (Aug 21) at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Dunkin, Minister and Rev. Gene Bruce, Chaplain at the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Lewis Hall of the First Presbyterian Church.
