Mrs Gladys Fesperman Trexler

Gladys Fesperman Trexler went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Born in Rowan County on October 21, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Joe F. Fesperman and Annie S. Fesperman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Doris Jean Trexler in 1955 and her husband, Ray W. Trexler in 1992. Those left to cherish her memories are daughters, Carolyn Ervin (Fred) of Salisbury, NC and Becky Marlow (Jay) of Cleveland, NC; granddaughter, Amber Ervin and grandson, Matt Ervin both of Salisbury; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Trexler; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Darlene Mason; sister-in-law, Rose Mary Meredith and Nancy Trexler all of Salisbury as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Gladys graduated from East Spencer High School in 1951. She worked at McClellans from 1951-1958 and the Rowan County School Food Service from 1977-1988. She loved the Lord, her church and her family. An active member of Calvary Baptist Church as long as her health permitted she was church librarian, member of the choir, member of Growing in Grace Sunday school class, previously taught Sunday school, and active in the WMU as well as other committees. The family will receive friends and Mrs. Trexler will lie in state from 1:30-3:00 PM Friday (Apr 18) at Calvary Baptist Church, 2255 East Ridge Road, Salisbury. The funeral service will follow at Calvary Baptist Church at 3 PM Friday, conducted by Dr. Rick Cockerham, church pastor. . Burial will follow beside her husband at Rowan Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Calvary Baptist Church, 2255 East Ridge Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144; Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, 720 Grove Street, Salisbury, NC 28144 or Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 1229 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
