Mrs. Anna Mair Green

Anna Mair Green, 83, a long time resident of Salisbury, NC went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 24, 2015. Anna was born September 28, 1932 in Kempten, Germany and was the daughter of the late Maximilian Mair and Olga Hamp Mair. Anna met and fell in love with her beloved husband Joseph Paul Green while he was serving in the United States Army in 1957 in Augsburg, Germany. The two were married on June 20, 1957 in Germany. In the late months of 1960 Joe and Anna moved to Fayetteville, NC where Anna was a homemaker and full time mother, raising their two sons, Thomas Joseph and Richard Allen. In the summer of 1974, Anna and her family moved to Salisbury, NC where she resided until her death. Anna enjoyed spending time with her family, making many trips to Germany. Anna briefly worked outside the home at R.W. Norman where she was a seamstress. She was a member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church and enjoyed swimming, sewing, cooking, dancing and baking. In addition to her parents Anna was preceded in death by her sisters Paula Mair Haberstumpf and Stefanie Mair Lonz and brothers Maximilian Mair, Richard Mair and Josef Mair all of Germany. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Joseph Paul Green of Salisbury, NC, sons Thomas Joseph Green of Salisbury, NC and Richard Allen Green and wife Erin of Salisbury, NC; sister Sabina Mair Lempenauer and husband Michel of Kempten, Germany; sisters in law Julie Mair of Kempten, Germany, Ulla Mair of Betzigau, Germany and Ernestine Mair of Konstanz, Switzerland; grandchildren, Daniel Chester Green and wife Kathryn Green of Lincolnton, NC; Alexander Green, R. Tate Green and Sierra Braun all of Salisbury, NC; and one great grandson Silas Green. In addition are those beloved family members of her husband Joseph Paul Green, sisters Frances G. Witkowski and Margaret G. Wansley both of Salisbury, NC, many nieces & nephews both in the US and Europe. Anna will be laid to rest at 11:30am on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Rowan Memorial Park. A celebration of Anna’s life will be conducted at 2pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Milford Hills United Methodist Church in Salisbury, NC with the Rev. Carol Williams-Gilbert officiating. Immediately following celebration of life, the family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of Milford Hills United Methodist Church.
