Alice Lou Cohen Waddell

Alice Lou Cohen Waddell, 86, of Salisbury passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023. Mrs. Waddell was born January 14, 1937 in Salisbury the daughter of the late Ruth Overman Cohen and Thomas Newton Cohen. She was a 1955 Boyden High School graduate and attended Salisbury Business College. Alice worked for Rowan Clerk of Court and Owens Illinois and retired in 1999 from the Veteran’s Hospital where she worked as a clerk. She was a member of Milford Hills United Methodist Church and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed sewing, cooking for her family, crossword puzzles and reading. During her husband’s military career in the Air Force they traveled through many states and spent 3 years in Hawaii. Alice also enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family and attending the Boyden 55 lunch bunch. Preceding her in death was her husband Robert Harrison Waddell, Sr., whom she married October 26, 1963 and passed away September 29, 2015; 2 brothers James Newton and Billy Lee Cohen; nephew William Thomas Cohen; niece Debra Jean Cohen. Those left to cherish her memories are her sons Robert Harrison (Rob) Waddell, Jr. of Cleveland and Michael Thomas Waddell (Angie) of Salisbury; grandchildren Jacob Harrison Waddell (Brittany), Joseph Kent Waddell, Hannah Michael Waddell and Hunter Thomas Waddell; great granddaughter Kyndall Lynn Waddell. Visitation will be held from 11-12PM, Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Milford Hills United Methodist Church. Memorial Service will be held at 12PM Tuesday at Milford Hills United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Steve Combs and Rev. Jim Parsons. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd location.
