Ronald Everette "Butch" Goins

Ronald Everette “Butch” Goins, 71, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Laurels of Salisbury surrounded by his wife and five children. Born June 5, 1946 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Grover Wilson Goins and Annie Ruth Steed Goins and was raised in the home of Rufus and Mary Hiatt. He was educated in the Thomasville schools and served in the Army National Guard. Mr. Goins retired from Salisbury Machinery/Cooper Tire and previously was employed for General Electric. He enjoyed a lifetime of woodworking/ building furniture for family members and loved antique cars. Ronald never met a stranger and could talk about woodworking and antique cars for hours. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. We joy in the fact that he is beside his Savior and those loved ones who passed before him. He is now made whole again in mind and body. He was a member of Wyatt’s Grove Baptist Church and served as an usher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Goins, Michael Goins and Joe Goins and sisters, Barbara Fleming and Carole Adams. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Snead Goins whom he married Oct. 1, 1988; children, Randy Goins (Rachel) of Raleigh, Jamie Yoch (Doug) of Davidson, and Holly Kesler of Salisbury; bonus children, Wendy Shuping (George) of Mooresville and Melissa Valley (Troy) of Salisbury; brothers, Darrell Goins (Pam) of Trinity, Tim Goins (Brenda) and Richard Goins (Sherry) of Thomasville, Marvin Goins (Cathy) of Mt. Airy; sister, Mary Wanda Grainger (Jeff) of Thomasville; grandchildren, Willow Goins, Benjamin Rankin, Presley and Sydney Yoch, Olivia, Landyn and Anderson Kesler, Lillian and Scarlett Shuping, Madison Beaver (Jeremy) and Marc Valley; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Nova Beaver and Daxton Valley; sister-in-law, Starr Goins of Dublin, GA; brother-in-law, Jonathan Adams of Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 11AM-12 Noon (Aug. 19) Saturday at the Summersett Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday at the Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Jones, Minister of Wyatt’s Grove Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
