Patricia Privett Moore

Patricia Privett Moore, 83, Co-Owner of The Medicine Shoppe of Salisbury NC passed away after an extended illness on Sunday January 6th, 2019 surrounded by her family and loving husband. She was born to William Henry and Rose Salamone Privett on April 30th, 1935 in East Port, Long Island, NY. Patricia earned her associate degree of nursing from Farleigh Dickinson, NJ, her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from Columbia, NY and became a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) Nurse. In February she would have celebrated 62 beautiful years of marriage to Banks McIlvain (Thomas) Moore III. Pat Moore was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her loving husband and seven children; Banks M. (Bryan) Moore married to Sunchai, John Thomas Moore married to Meagan, Michele Vaeth married to Michael, Leigh Ann Norris married to Tim, Marcia Clare Moore, Teresa Casmus married to Robert, and Margaret Fisher married to Lee. Her fifteen grandchildren; Matthew Banks Moore married to Christina, Thomas Lee Moore engaged to Gabriella, David McIlvain Moore married to Sari, Michael Thomas Vaeth Jr., Peter Joseph Vaeth, John Patrick Vaeth, Mary Scott Norris, Christian Banks Norris, William David Casmus, Lee Allison Fisher engaged to Tomoyo, Anna Michele Fisher, William (Bill) Henry Fisher, Holly Marie Fisher, Banks Copeland Moore, Richard Parks Moore. Her great grandchildren Kayla Ko and Jacob Banks Moore. Her brothers William Privett married to Marilyn, Lee Privett married to Margie and sister Jacquelyn Privett. And faithful and supportive Aunt Mary Salamone Austin. Patricia’s life was dedicated to helping people through work and community. She worked as a public health nurse in Suffolk County, NY and as a registered nurse at Rowan Regional Hospital and the VA Hospital of Salisbury, NC. She was co-owner of Rowan Drug (1970), co-founder of The Medicine Shoppe (1981) and owner of Rowan IV Therapy doing business as Option Care (1990). In the community she was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, the local chapter of Right to Life, Catholic Daughters (Court Sacred Heart #1759), St. Anne's Circle, Italian Heritage Club, Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and Board Member of Meals on Wheels. She was a remarkable woman who left a lasting impression on everyone. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1914, Salisbury, NC 28145. A Rosary Service will be held at Summersett Chapel Wednesday, January 9th starting at 6pm and visitation will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, January 10th at 11:30am, followed by a burial service at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
