Mary "Frances" Rary Greenway

On Wednesday July 26, 2017 Heaven gained another angel, Mary “Frances” Rary Greenway age 90. She is now reunited with her husband Paul in Heaven. They were married for 64 years. She was proceeded in death by her parents C.E “Shorty” and Mae McCrary Rary, brothers Bill Rary, Sonny Rary, Kenneth Rary, sister Betty Rosenhoover, and great granddaughter Rebekah Batten. Her loving survivors include daughters Pam G. (Mike) Reavis of Shelby, NC, Sharon G. (Don) Pardue of Harrison, TN; grandchildren Misti R. (Brent) Peeler of Fort Mill, SC, Bradley Reavis of Fort Mill, SC, Lisa P. (Jonas) Batten of Harrison, TN, and Brian Pardue of Columbia, SC. She also has 4 great grandchildren Madison and Blake Peeler, and Rachel and Sarah Batten. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Frances was born July 19, 1927 in Rowan County. She was educated in China Grove schools. She was employed by Bamby Bakery, F.W. Woolworth’s, Navy Yard clerk with US Navy, and she retired with 38 years from Cannon Mills as a Supply room clerk. Frances was well loved by her family and friends and she loved everyone she came in contact with. She enriched the lives of the ones she loved so much. She always had a smile on her face and told you that you were looking good each time she saw you! She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, and flower arranging. Red was her signature color. She loved every minute with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was affectionately called Gram! Frances was a member of Colburn Memorial United Methodist Church in Salisbury, NC. The family will receive friends at Summersett Funeral Home in Salisbury, NC on Saturday July 29, 2017 from 12:00-1:00pm with a graveside service immediately following at 1:30 PM at Rowan Memorial Park with Pastor David Costner of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, Shelby NC officiating. A special thank you to the office and nursing staff of the skilled care unit at White Oak Manor in Shelby, NC for the love and excellent care shown to Mrs. Greenway and her family.
