Elizabeth Linebarger Miller

Elizabeth Linebarger Miller, 94, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017 at her residence. Born in Rowan County on November 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ivey Johnson Linebarger and Ella Amelia Ballard Linebarger. Elizabeth was a long-term member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church. She loved to travel to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Myrtle Beach. She was so thrilled to attend the Atlanta Braves games and meet her hero, Chipper Jones. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races and cheering for her favorite, Jeff Gordon. One of her many thrills were taking Harley rides with her grandson down the main streets of Salisbury, when she was in her late 80’s. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie L. Miller, who passed away on December 7th, 2000. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlene Elizabeth Bollinger and husband, James of Salisbury; Charlie “Sonny” Leon Miller and wife, Kay, of Rockwell and Michael Lee Miller and wife, Carolyn, of Salisbury. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Dia Christine Miller of Wooster, Ohio, Gregory Dean Miller and wife Kate of Hillsborough, NC, Darrin Keith Miller and wife Christina and Lynne Marie Thompson and husband Twinnion, all of Rockwell; eight step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, Seth, Eli, Ty, Ellie and Steven; seven step-great-grandchildren and niece Ruth Linebarger Fleming of Salisbury. The family will receive friends in The Rhyne Fellowship Hall at Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the church sanctuary with Pastor Mike Herring officiating. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Rowan Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Stallings Memorial Baptist Church, 817 S. Main Street Salisbury, NC 28144.
