Edward Lee Corriher

Edward Lee Corriher, Sr., 79, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Novant Health Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Mr. Corriher was born on April 14, 1939 in Ashe County, NC, the son of the late Frontis Lentz Corriher and the late Myrtle Ellen Dixon Corriher. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools and graduated from Mt. Ulla High School. Mr. Corriher was the owner and operator of Corriher Floor Sanding from 1985 until his retirement. Mr. Corriher was the past president of the Carolina Chrysler Car Club, a member of Blount Woods Hunt Club in Pink Hill, NC and a member of Gay’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Corriher enjoyed going to Richard’s Barbeque to drink coffee and hang out with his friends. He was a loving son, father, brother, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather and a friend to many. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Betty Smith Corriher, Brothers: Everette Corriher of Salisbury and Gene Corriher (Wanda) of Mooresville. Sons: Edward (Eddie) L. Corriher, Jr., Michael Todd Corriher (Amy) of Mt. Ulla, NC, and daughter Robin Corriher Mowery (Nelson) of Mt. Ulla, NC. Grandchildren: Erica Dumas (Dan), Travis Corriher, Brandon Corriher, Cory Lingle (Whitney), Isaac Lingle, John Corriher, Lauren Corriher, and three Great-grandchildren. Mr. Corriher is also survived by his Step Children: Harvey Corriher (Susan) of Union Grove, NC, Lewis Corriher (Ronda) of Lexington, NC and Donald Corriher (Polly) of Salisbury, NC, Carol Costner (Garry) of Salisbury and Jeannie Raiford (David) of Kernersville, NC. Step Grandchildren: Amy Carrick (Tim), Kevin Corriher (Jennifer), Brad Corriher, Kimmy Perkins (Stuart), David Raiford (Ana), Jennifer Graves (Mark), Sara Beth Transue (Thomas), and eight Step Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 12:30-2:00PM at Summersett Funeral Home. Services will follow in the Summersett Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 2:00pm with the Rev. Don Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
